Terms of use
Last updated 1 November 2026 · Version 1.1
The short version
- Hello Later is made by Charles Rahbani, a sole trader in the UK.
- Hello Later records what you checked. It doesn't lock doors, turn anything off or make your home safe.
- It's free to use, with one photo (or checklist tap) a day. Hello Later Plus, bought through Apple, removes the limit and adds reminders.
- Monthly and yearly Plus renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple account settings. Lifetime is paid once.
- Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
1. Who we are
Hello Later is made by Charles Rahbani, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: Charles Rahbani, sole trader, England. Our postal address is available on request: hellolater.app@gmail.com.
2. These terms
These terms are between you and us. They apply when you use Hello Later. Apple's standard licence for App Store apps (the "Licensed Application End User License Agreement", apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies. If Apple's licence and these terms differ, these terms apply between you and us, and neither takes away your rights as a consumer. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your information: https://hellolater.co.uk/privacy.
If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before buying Plus.
3. What Hello Later does, and doesn't do
Hello Later lets you take a photo, with the time, of the things you check as you leave home, or tap them off a checklist, so you can look back later.
Hello Later records what you checked. It doesn't lock doors, turn anything off or make your home safe.
A photo shows how something looked at the moment you took it. It can't tell whether an appliance is really off, whether a door is really locked, or what happened after you left. The names the app suggests ("Hob", "Front door") are guesses worked out on your phone and can be wrong; you can change them. Reminders are a nudge: your phone may not show them, for example if notifications are off or the phone is off. If you're unsure about something at home, deal with it the way you would without the app.
Photos are kept only on your phone and are cleared the first time you open the app after midnight. Keep anything you need somewhere else; Hello Later isn't a place to store photos.
4. Free and Plus
- Free: one photo, or one checklist tap, each day. The count starts again after midnight (your phone's time).
- Hello Later Plus: as many photos and checklist taps as you like each day, and leaving reminders.
| Plan | UK price | How you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | £1.99 a month | Renews automatically every month until you cancel |
| Yearly | £19.99 a year | Renews automatically every year until you cancel |
| Lifetime | £34.99 once | One payment, no renewals |
In other countries, Apple sets the price in your local currency, and it's shown in the app and the App Store before you buy. There's no free trial; the free tier lets you try the app first.
Plus is for the Apple ID that buys it. Family Sharing isn't available for Plus.
Lifetime means you pay once and Plus doesn't renew or expire. It is not a promise that we'll keep updating the app forever. Section 7 explains what happens if the app closes.
5. Paying, renewing and cancelling
- Apple sells Plus and takes the payment, under Apple's own terms. We never see your card details.
- Monthly and yearly renew automatically at the price shown, until you cancel. Apple charges you at the start of each period.
- To cancel, open iPhone Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, or in Hello Later tap Settings › Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to stop the next charge. Plus keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's terms explain when you can cancel a purchase and get your money back.
- Restore purchases (in Settings or on the Plus screen) brings Plus back on a new phone, or after reinstalling, with the same Apple ID.
- Price changes: if a subscription price goes up, Apple tells you before it applies and, where Apple's rules require it, asks you to agree. You can cancel instead.
6. Changes to the app and these terms
We'll keep improving Hello Later, and updates may change how things look or work.
We'll only remove or reduce something you've paid for in Plus for a valid reason: a change in the law, in Apple's rules or iOS, a security problem, or a service we rely on being withdrawn by its supplier. We won't do it just because we want to. If we have to, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before, unless the reason (such as a security problem) means we must act sooner.
Plus has two main parts: as many photos and checklist taps as you like, and leaving reminders. If a change like that takes away or seriously limits either of them:
- Monthly or yearly: you can cancel in your Apple account settings and ask Apple for a refund (reportaproblem.apple.com). If Apple doesn't refund you, email us at hellolater.app@gmail.com with your Apple receipt, and we'll refund the unused part of the period you've paid for.
- Lifetime: if you bought Lifetime less than 24 months before the change takes effect, we'll refund 1/24 of the price you paid for each full month left of those 24 months, counted from the day the change takes effect. Email us at hellolater.app@gmail.com with your Apple receipt within 90 days of that day. We'll pay within 14 days of agreeing the amount.
We may change these terms only to reflect a change in the law, in Apple's rules or iOS, a security problem, a supplier withdrawing a service we rely on, or a new feature, or to make them clearer. A change to these terms will never take away something you've already paid for, except as this section allows above. If a change could make things worse for you, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription before then, and the remedies above still apply. We'll update the date at the top each time.
7. If Hello Later closes
If we decide to stop offering Hello Later, we'll say so in the app and on our website at least 31 days before. From the day we tell you, we'll stop selling Plus and stop all renewals, so no one is charged again.
The app and your data live on your phone, so the copy you have keeps working after that. If you have Plus Lifetime, Plus keeps working on that copy; we won't switch it off. It won't get further updates, though, and it may stop working with a future version of iOS. Your rights in section 8 still apply. If you have a monthly or yearly subscription, Plus keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
8. Your rights
Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer. In the UK, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't, you can ask for a repair or replacement, or in some cases some or all of your money back. If faulty digital content we supplied damages your device or other digital content, and we didn't use reasonable care, we'll repair the damage or compensate you.
Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases. If you think Hello Later is faulty, tell us too, and we'll help put it right. If the law says you're owed money back and Apple doesn't refund you, we'll pay it ourselves. For advice, contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk). If you live outside the UK, you keep any rights your own country's law gives you.
9. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might when you started using the app.
We're not responsible for:
- loss caused by the state of your home or anything in it: the app records what you checked, and doesn't check anything for you (section 3). This doesn't apply if a fault in Hello Later caused the loss, for example a wrong time on a photo;
- a reminder your phone didn't show because notifications were off, Focus was on, or the phone was off or out of battery. If a fault in Hello Later stopped it, section 8 applies;
- loss that wasn't foreseeable;
- losing photos that the app clears after midnight, as described, or that are lost with your phone;
- business losses: Hello Later is for personal use.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
10. Using the app fairly
Hello Later is licensed to you for your own personal use, under Apple's licence and these terms. Please don't copy or resell it, or try to get around the free limit or the purchase checks. The name, design and code belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Open-source parts keep their own licences.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop at any time: cancel any subscription in your Apple account and delete the app. We may stop providing the app to you if you seriously break these terms, for example by tampering with purchases.
12. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of that country's laws that can't be set aside by agreement, and you can bring a claim where you live if that law allows.
13. Problems and complaints
Please tell us first at hellolater.app@gmail.com. We'll reply as soon as we can, and within 14 days at the latest. For payments and refunds, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
